THE FRICTION

A useful quote ends up in a slide without its question, timestamp, or wording check. The next person cannot easily tell what the participant actually said.

THE PRODUCT WE’RE EXPLORING

QuoteTrail, in three parts.

QuoteTrail would connect an editable transcript to selected quotes and a compact evidence brief. Suggested themes would remain separate from verified participant wording.

Three planned capabilities we want to validate with early users.

01 / PLANNED

Reviewable transcripts

Planned transcription would let a reviewer correct speaker labels and wording before marking a quote as checked.

02 / PLANNED

Quotes with context

Proposed quote cards would retain the source timestamp and surrounding passage for later review.

03 / PLANNED

A traceable brief

Planned exports would connect each research takeaway to selected evidence instead of presenting a generated summary as fact.

AN INTENDED WORKFLOW

A clearer next step.
Less work around it.

A focused approach for product researchers and founders reviewing customer interviews with permission.

  1. 01

    Confirm permission

A future pilot would start with authorized recordings and clear retention and sharing settings.

  2. 02

    Check the transcript

Review uncertain wording and speakers, then select the passages that support a specific observation.

  3. 03

    Build an evidence brief

Group reviewed excerpts while preserving their source references and the researcher's interpretation.

GOOD TO KNOW

A few useful answers.

Can I transcribe an interview now?

No. This is an interest form, not a transcription service. We do not accept recordings or provide generated transcripts today.

How will private interviews be handled?

Processing providers, access controls, retention, deletion, and sharing terms must be defined before a pilot accepts recordings. Joining the waitlist does not send us interview content.

Will a generated summary count as verified research?

No. Transcripts and suggestions can be wrong. The proposed workflow requires people to verify quotes against their source and distinguish observations from interpretations.
